2011
Old Gatesburg Road Extension

Client: Ferguson Township/PennDOT

Location: Ferguson Township, Centre County PA

The Old Gatesburg Road Extension project is the product of a public-private partnership between Ferguson Township and Pine Hall Development Company. The construction of this new roadway was administered by PennDOT and included new traffic signals at Blue Course Drive and Old Gatesburg Road; a modern roundabout; a bicycling path, and a pedestrian sidewalk. In order to construct the new roadway HRI had to complete approximately 62,000 CY of earthwork, install a drainage system comprised of approximately 90 precast structures and 6,000 LF of pipe. To finish out the new 3,500 LF roadway HRI placed approximately: 20,100 TN of aggregate, 11,000 TN of HMA, 13,200 LF of concrete curb and 4,000 SY of concrete sidewalk. HRI broke ground on the project in early March of 2011 and opened the new roadway to traffic 8 months later on November 11th of 2011.
